Size: 9cm x 14cm Instructions Item preparation The first & most important step is that the clothing to be dyed needs to be washed on a 30 degree cycle. All clothing comes with a sizing chemical that repels the dye so this is required to ensure the item retains the dye colour. Once washed it is then soaked in soda ash for around 15 minutes which aids the dye to bond with the cotton fibres. This can be bought from most supermarkets in the cleaning aisle for a low price. The final step in prepping the clothing is to then put it on a spin cycle to ring out the excess water from the previous two steps. The clothing is now ready to be tied & dyed. For items wished to have a pastel colour appearance these will use less dye/more water compared to when you want more brighter end products. We always advise to experiment on a non valuable piece of garment to find your perfect vibrancy. Please note these dyes will not work on synthetics such as polyester. If using on a cotton blend with polyester then we recommend that the cotton % will need to be at least 70% As a guide we use 2g of dye with 78ml of water (double for New Black) & will use varyng amounts of this depending on what
