These expanded clay pebbles are an organic growing medium highly recommended by us to use indoors or outdoors with all our pots & planters. These are widely used by our customers due to their ability to enhance plant performance & extend the life of your pots. These work wonderfully in flood & drain & dripper systems. This light weight aggregate is made by heating clay to around 1,200 oC (2,190 oF) in a rotary kiln. This heating process causes the clay to expand. The end result is a rough finished, highly porous medium that is excellent at retaining moisture, trapping air, & oxygenating any nutrient solution that flows over it. Lets see how: These clay tablets have higher pore space & will offer better aeration & retention of moisture both at the same time. The high air holding capacity encourages roots growth as by keeping the roots oxygenated & not water logged or clogged. A clogged up pot will do not good to the plant or to its self. Using clay pebbles will help speed up plant growth by providing plenty of aeration to the root zone. They also provide a great support structure to give your plants unparalleled stability. These pebbles pH stable & are graded to measure 10-20mm in diameter.
