This charming rare French Vintage Antique Enamel Laundry Soap Rack Blue Enamelware Rack dates back to the early 1900s & was used to store the various soaps & salt products in the laundry room & hung on the wall of kitchens & laundry rooms for easy access. This hanging wall piece is blue with black stenciled removable canisters that read Savon noir, Cristaux & Savon Minerale which translates to black soup, crystals & mineral soap. The rack has two holes for securing to the wall (screws not included). This rack can still be used in a similar way in the laundry or bathroom for your modern products or get creative & use in the kitchen for salts & spices or utensils, or your office or craft space for supplies of all sorts. It would even make a lovely decorative planter filled with cacti or other small decorative plants. So many lovely ways to re-purpose this quaint piece of French laundry history & bring a touch of French charm to your space. - Condition - in lovely vintage condition. As this item is antique & close to 100 years old, there are signs of age & usage such as chips & crazing in the enamel, rust marks, areas of fading & surface scratches & some minor bumps on the surface. It has been cleaned with nature products to help remove some of the surface rust & dust but there is still some clean rust which I believe gives the piece it’s charm & beauty.
