The Flore Mdicale is one of the most important French books on the study of medicinal boards in the nineteenth century. It gives to read the description, the history, as well as the use & the virtues of the plants. The plants are represented in their entirety, accompanied by details of their flowers & their seeds. A work most notable for its fine illustrations in the Pierre-Joseph Redout style of stipple-engraving by Turpin & Anne-Ernestine Panckoucke.
